ARARIO GALLERY

Gwon Osang (b. 1974) is participating in the《Art in Qiaoshan-Artfield Nanhai 2026》in China, where he has unveiled a newly commissioned work. Under the main theme of ”The Original Bay Area“ and the sub-theme ”Moving Alongside the Water,“ the festival unfolds across a vast landscape encompassing three areas in the western part of Nanhai District. Set within a core zone bounded by the Xijiang and Beijiang Rivers, this massive regional art project features 134 diverse artworks by 203 artists from 31 countries.

For this exhibition, Gwon presents New Structure Nanhai (2026). The work draws deep inspiration from the ecology of the rivers and waterways intersecting the Nanhai region, as well as the memories and daily lives of the local residents shaped along these waters. Gwon collected visual elements commonly found in the area—such as egret, dragon boats, and traditional brick patterns—and reconstructed them into his signature, highly original three-dimensional structure. Permanently installed by the river in Nanhai District, this artwork is set to become an artistic landmark that continuously resonates with the surrounding nature and the everyday life of the local community.

The exhibition runs through January 3, 2027.
